Celebrate HER: Changing the Narrative & the Canvas

A series of refurbished paintings dedicated to women in the arts who are not only making waves in their respective fields, but also changing the narrative. Each piece is recreated from older pieces that range up to 6 six years in age and reflects a time when I was not only defining myself as a woman, but my style as an artist, as well. Painting over older pieces adds more purpose to the story of each canvas, bringing life to what was once forgotten. I believe there's always growth in recreation, which is why I chose to focus on other women in the arts who are also breaking societal norms, living in their authentic truth, and constantly defining their voice in the process.
