Wild Card: BLACK GIRLS WHO PAINT Shop Launch

I finally launched the BLACK GIRL WHO PAINT Shop last week shortly after our 6 month anniversary (March 4th)! It has been an exciting new experience. Selling apparel is different than selling paintings and prints BUT preparation has been key. I realized that it's okay to ask questions, utilize your resources, and if it doesn't feel right to say no during this process. It might sound crazy, but anything I do related to BGWP makes me feel good - internally and externally. And this launch has been another one of these moments. Check out the new BLACK GIRLS WHO PAINT pieces below!

I picked grayscale and black-and-white apparel because I wanted to give each BGWP the autonomy to rock each piece as is or add a splash of color and personality! I can't wait to customize my own pieces too because already if I'm out and about in public, 9/10 I'm rocking my BGWP gear. I can't wait to see how others rock their BGWP gear! That's the most exciting part. The shop will have more goodies soon enough! This is just the beginning :)

On December 15th, 2016 we had our very first show...

Wild Card: Things To Do

I’ve been looking for fun things to do in the city, aside from the bar scene. While perusing Facebook, I've noticed some cool activities and events pop up on my timeline. It's one thing to say 'I'm interested' in an event on Facebook and another thing to actually go to that event. It's interesting how Facebook is utilizing its platform for more marketing purposes now. It can get annoying seeing random ads at times, but last weekend, a friend and I finally decided to act on a Facebook ad and try out...

Wild Card: Restaurant

Every year we take my mom to brunch (or cook) and a movie to celebrate Mother's Day. Sweet and simple family time! This year we decided to switch it up a little. We normally take her to a super expensive fancy restaurant with extravagant decor. Instead, we decided to take her to...
